11/5/18 There will be a test Thursday over the Elements of Fiction taken from the short stories we have been reading: Contents of the Dead Man's Pocket (see below), The Cold Equation (see below), Night Drive, Of Time and Third Avenue, Everyday Use.
10/14/18 As we continue our short story unit, we will read Contents of the Dead Man's Pocket by Jack Finney and The Cold Equation by Tom Godwin.

8/27-8/31/18 This week we will be looking at other Beowulf texts. These are VERY different from your test so I did not want us to work with them before we finished our version. Later in the week, we will look at Frame Stories. See if you can find frame stories in the movies and books you read.

8/1/18 Syllabus
7/30 and 7/31 We began the school year with a scavenger hunt that tied back to our English standards. We focused specifically on the English Power Standards, and my expectation that the students be able to identify them by the end of the year.
7/30/18 We are beginning with British literature and one of my favorites: Beowulf. For my avid gamers, this epic poem has a hero, warriors, fighting "bad guys", and riches. I hope you enjoy it.
Unfortunately, we don't have the full version in our textbook. However, you can listen to the whole poem on YouTube.
